Ultima Entrada

Its your last week in Oviedo.  Hopefully you have learned something, had some good times, and of course improved your Spanish skills.  For the final entry you need to read your first entry (the one you wrote before arriving in Oviedo) and then think about your time in Spain.  Write around 200 words (more if you would like) reflecting about what you have learned, seen, done, and enjoyed. 

Your final entry should represent your best written Spanish.  You can and should also go back and proof read all your previous entries.  You will have until Thursday night to write your final entry and proof read and edit the other entries.

Don't forget to post one more photo with description.

Make some comments on some photos and entries. (At least on one photo and one entry)

Cuarta Semana

This week you need to:

Post an entry about your free weekend (by Wednesday)
Post a picture from your free weekend and include a short description (by Thursday)

You will also need to visit the blog for the Utes in Santo Domingo.  www.usantodomingo.blogspot.com
You need to comment on three pictures and one entry.  All your comments should be in Spanish.

Tercera semana

Tercera semana – Mi lugar favorito de Oviedo

Hace tres semanas que estás en Oviedo. (¡Cómo pasa el tiempo!) Conoces algunos sitios de la ciudad.  Esta semana tienes que escribir una entrada sobre tu rincón, sitio o lugar favorito de Oviedo.

You only need to post one thing this week.  You need to post a photo and description of your favorite spot, place, corner, street, etc. in Oviedo.  Your description should be between 75-100 words.

Comment on at least two of your classmates’ entries. (by Wednesday night)

Segunda semana

This week you need to write an entry (around 200 words) about one of the following subjects:

1. La comida española

2. Hacer compras (ir de compras)

3. Costumbres españoles

4. Housing in Spain

Your main entry should be posted by midnight on Wednesday.

You will also need to post a new picture with a description. (by Thursday)

You need to comment on two pictures and one blog entry. (by Thursday)

Primera Semana

You have three things you need to do on your blog this week.  From now on, your blog entries and comments should be in Spanish and remember to keep it appropriate for the university setting. 

You need to post or comment by the date in parenthesis.
1 - Write a new blog entry. See below for details. (Wednesday)
2 - Post a picture with a short paragraph length description (Thursday)
3 - Comment on two pictures and one blog entry (Thursday)

1. Una experiencia española - For your first blog entry in Spain you need to tell about an experience that you have had here in Spain. It can be an adventure you have had. It can be a funny, happy, embarrassing, etc. It should be at least 150-200 words (you can write more if you need/want to). Don't forget to proof read your entry and add accent marks where appropriate; it might be a smart idea to write your entry in Word and then cut and paste it into blogspot. You need to post by midnight on Wednesday.

2. La foto de la semana - Each week you need to post one picture on your blog. It needs to be posted by Thursday night at midnight. It should be a picture that you took (or give credit for the picture). You need to include a description or story with the picture (short paragraph length in Spanish). Please only post appropriate pictures. You need to post by midnight on Thursday.

3. Los comentarios - By Thursday night you need to have looked through several of the pictures and commented (in Spanish) on at least two of them. You also need to comment on one blog entry. Try to comment on pictures and entries that don't already have a lot of comments and try not to send comments to the same people all the time.

Getting Started

During your time in Oviedo you will be keeping a blog of your experiences, progress, activities and pictures.  We will use blogspot.com (same as blogger.com) for our blogs.  If you don’t already have a blog you will need to create one.  If you already have a blog on blogspot, you can use your same login, but you will need to create an additional blog for the Oviedo Program (you can still use the other one for personal blogging).

How to create your Blogspot

1.       Steps to setting up your blog for the Oviedo Program

Open www.blogspot.com and click “Get Started”

Fill in the information required and click “Continue”

2.       Give your blog a title, for example “Ana Maria y La Ciudad de Oviedo”  (this can be changed later)

Create a blog address  – http:// amariaoviedo.blogspot.com  (You can use any available name for your blog as long as it is appropriate.)  (**You CAN’T change the address after you have set it**)

3.       Choose a template that you like.  (You can change this later.)

4.       Now you are ready to write your first entry.  You need to complete and publish your entry before you leave for Spain.  (Please note that you can save your entry as a draft to be able to work on it later.)

5.       Sharing your blog – You need to share your blog’s URL with the group.  Go to Canvas and post the address to your blog under the appropriate Discussion.  Please check to make sure it is the correct URL and that it links correctly to your blog.  For a more convenient place, please post your link on the facebook page; please post under the comment I made about blogs.
